This project was in collaboration with Upwall Design in Salt Lake City
The client’s program was to create a holistic and therapeutic center offering body work, movement classes and art therapy to the local community. To be incorporated into the space were massage rooms, hydro-therapy equipment, dance studios, gallery space, art classrooms, kiln, and a full café. The building selected had previously housed a small grocery market in one of Salt Lake’s oldest neighborhoods.
Two patio extensions were added, one at the rear entrance and the other to accomodate outdoor dining at the café. The trellis design at the patios incorporates custom metal railings, and copper pipes serve as shading elements above.
