Stevenson Street Housing

Location: San Francisco

This project is currently under planning review phases

The design for this building incorporates four townhouse units along the street front and a separate four bedroom unit to the rear of the oddly shaped lot. The front and rear building volumes are separated by a vertical light court that runs the full width of the site and brings daylight into all portions of the otherwise densely planned units. Efforts were made at the street façade to respond to the existing residential pattern of the block and the new elevated freeway along the south side. A 45' high sound attenuation wall is planned to shield freeway noise and to further reinforce the privacy of the courtyard space and open rear yard which lie within.
