This project involved a two story addition to the side of a classic 19th century Victorian. Set on a hillside overlooking San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood, the addition was envisioned like a side car to a classic motorcycle and attempts to compliment the original structure rather than mimic its detailing. Set back from the front façade in order to distinguish old from new, the addition is outfittied with a small balcony at the upper level which provides further relief to the massing.
